Who We Are and What We Have Built
A small technical team with a specific, narrow focus.
The Co is a Craiova-based software company founded in 2019 by a team of systematic traders and software engineers who spent the preceding years building and running their own algorithmic strategies across Forex and index markets. The founding team had accumulated experience across more than 300 live strategy deployments before writing the first line of The Co’s platform code. That experience made one problem impossible to ignore: most available automation tools treated risk management as a configuration option rather than a structural constraint. Strategies ran until they did not — and the tooling offered no hard boundary to stop them. The Co was built to correct that. Every module in the platform was designed with a single question as its test: does this respect the risk envelope the client defined, regardless of what the market is doing? If the answer was no, the feature was redesigned. The platform launched in limited beta in early 2021 and reached general availability in 2022. As of 2024, the team in Craiova consists of eight people: four software engineers, one data infrastructure specialist, one broker integration specialist, and two client support technicians. The team does not have a sales department. New clients come through referrals and organic search, which suits the nature of the product — systematic traders are a precise audience who evaluate tools methodically, and we prefer that process.
How We Work and Where the Boundaries Are

The Co operates on a few working principles that have not changed since 2019. First: the client’s risk parameters are inviolable. The platform will pause a strategy before breaching a configured limit, every time, without exception. Second: we document what we do not know. If a broker’s API has undocumented latency behaviour, we write it up and share it with clients who use that broker. If a backtest instrument has a data gap, the report flags it explicitly rather than silently skipping the period. Third: the team takes on new client relationships at a pace that allows proper onboarding. We have declined clients whose broker was not yet supported rather than promise connectivity we could not deliver. The platform is designed for systematic traders who define their own strategies and want a reliable, risk-bounded environment to run them. It is not designed for traders who want signals, managed accounts, or a turnkey profit-generating product. If you are in the second category, The Co is not the right tool, and we will tell you that directly rather than take your subscription. The Craiova team is reachable during business hours Monday through Friday. Response times for technical queries average under four hours during market days.
